The Berlin Wall is a arcade game originally by Kaneko in 1991. It was one of the first games to be released for the Kaneko 16-Bit System. It had a Game Gear port. The game is based on the real life Berlin Wall that was built during the Cold War.
Gameplay[]
The game doesn't play like a typical platformer, but a pseudo-puzzle like one. To defeat enemies, the players must make a hole on one of the breakable blocks. If the enemy is defeated, the player is rewarded with an item or an powerup suit that throws fire balls for bigger points. But some enemies require two holes or more to defeat.
Ports[]
The Berlin Wall was ported to the Game Gear with a different style and storyline.
Trivia[]
- Ironically, the Berlin Wall was destroyed in 1990-1992 as the game came out between those years.
- Another game, Wani Wani World, was just a reskin of the game on the Genesis.
- Speaking of that, a Mega Drive port was in development but was rumored to be reskinned into Wani Wani World.
